Omkring Holte-Hus Efterskole

Holte-Hus Efterskole ligger midt i Nordsjælland mellem København og Hillerød. Den blev grundlagt af læreren Jette Hansen i år 2003, og har et pædagogisk koncept baseret på "lille skoles filosofi" (Little School Philosophy) fra USA. Det betyder, at eleverne arbejder individuelt og kollegialt under vejledning af undervisere, så de bliver motiverede til selvtillid og ansvarlighed. Derudover bygger skolen også videre på principperne bag Montessori metoden. Skolen udbyder bred uddannelse indenfor alle klassiske emner, men specialiserer sig især i musikalsk kreative processer. Elevernes dag består typisk af fire timer undervisning, to timers aktiviteter, madlavning, middag og aftenskoleaktivitet. Aktivitetsprogrammet indeholder blandt andet teaterforestilling, fotografering, filmklipning, sangwriting, danseworkshops, yoga, badminton, basketball, volleyball, tennis, svømmekursus, cykelturnering, mountainbike tur, gokart racing, bowling, paint ball, trampolinpark, go cart race track, zorbing, laser tag, escape room adventure, survival training, campfire cooking, stjernekiggeri, naturlegeplads besøg, museumsbesøg, guidede city tours osv.. Desuden arrangeres årligt flere store arrangementer, herunder julefrokost, Halloween party, valentinsbal, sportsdag, friluftsdag, slutkoncert, semesterstartsfest, nytårsparty etc., ligesom elevrådet planlægger mindre events igennem året. Holte-Hus Efterskole er ikke bare en almindelig efterskole; den fungerer desuden som kommunalt center for unge. Dermed yder skolen serviceydelser til borgerne i kommuneområdet, eksempelvis foredrag, workshops, kurser, festarrangementer, fitnesscenter, café, restaurant mm. I tillæg til disse faciliteter råder skolen over moderne IT-faciliteter, bibliotek, gymnasium, auditorium, biograf, spisesalen, legeplads, haveanlæg, parkeringsplads, busstoppested, rensningsstation,
